What we collect and why
Information you give us directly
We collect information only when you choose to share it:
- Email address and first name — when you take the SPARK Persona Quiz and open your full profile, apply for Founding Readers, join the future-books notify list, or contact us. We use this to send you the content you asked for and, occasionally, letters we think are worth your time.
- SPARK quiz answers — your ten quiz responses and your primary and secondary persona type. We use this to personalize the emails we send you and to improve the quiz over time. We do not sell this information.
- Your "one sentence" about your book — if you share it on the Founding Readers application. We use it to match you to the right reader group. It is never published without your permission.
- Future-book topic preferences — which Circle 1 Living books you want to hear about. We use this to send relevant announcements and nothing else.
Information collected automatically
When you visit circle1living.com, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) automatically logs standard server data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. We use this to keep the site running and secure — not to build a profile of you.
We do not currently use advertising pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags, etc.) or behavioral tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any pixel is added, and we will notify our email list.
Cookies
circle1living.com uses only functional cookies — small files that keep the site working as expected (for example, restoring your quiz results when you return via your personal link). We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How we store and share your data
Where your data lives
Email addresses, names, and quiz results are stored in Systeme.io, our email marketing platform. Systeme.io is GDPR-compliant and does not sell subscriber data. Their privacy policy: systeme.io/privacy-policy.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Server logs are retained per Cloudflare's standard policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. The only third parties who may process your data are Cloudflare and Systeme.io, and only to the extent necessary to deliver what you requested.
If we are required by law to disclose your information, we will notify you first to the extent legally permitted.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your record is removed from active lists within 30 days. You can also request deletion at any time.
Your rights
We apply these rights to everyone, regardless of where you live:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your record entirely.
- Portability — ask for a copy of your data in a readable format.
- Objection — ask us to stop processing your data for marketing at any time. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. One click removes you permanently.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@circle1living.com with the subject line "Privacy request." We will respond within 30 days.
EU and UK residents have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. We do not sell personal information. Contact us using the address above to request disclosure or deletion.
Children
Circle 1 Living is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it promptly.
Links to other sites
Our site links to external resources including retail booksellers and community platforms. Once you leave circle1living.com, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes — particularly if we ever add advertising pixels or begin sharing data with new third parties — we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify our email list before the change takes effect. The version history is visible in our public GitHub repository.
